Source funding at local, national and European level for long-term management and promotion of the Trail
Progress:
Currently a LIFE+ bid for a Schools "Trail to Classroom" Project and a Green Infrastructure Trail Corridor project is being pursued. We will know if we have been successful by June 2015. Other opportunities currently identified are the new LEADER project and the Coastal Communities Fund. We have received funding to promote the trail as part of the Walking and cycling exhibitions in Belgium and the Netherlands in 2015.

Background information:
The funding currently recieved from Natural England and the managing authorities of North York Moors National Park and Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council is mainly focussed on ensuring a high quality of maintenance of the route. Where we would like to see wider projects, such as promotion, interpretation, education and health & wellbeing work, we are now going to be reliant on accessing other funding streams.
